A practical example
An agency manages an installation company and a consulting company. Each client has its own account so the team can work with the correct business records, brand settings and permissions when handling that client's activity.
How to use this concept
Confirm the active account before importing contacts, configuring a sender or publishing a page. The account context determines which business the work belongs to. Use a clear account name that team members and client users can recognize.
Give people access appropriate to their responsibilities and review it when a handoff changes. Agency access is governed: the client and agency settings can affect approval and how agency visits are represented. Follow the access controls documented in the current product.
During onboarding, record ownership of domains, providers and billing relationships, then test the intended user journey under the correct role. Keep that record with the client's handoff checklist so future changes have an accountable owner.
Is a client account the same as a company contact record?
A company record describes a business within a CRM's contact data. A client account is the business context in which people work and settings apply. An agency can therefore have many company records inside one client account without creating a separate account for each company.
