UTM Builder: Create a Campaign Tracking URL

Build an encoded campaign URL with source, medium and campaign tags. Keep existing query parameters and review every value before sharing.

How do you build a campaign tracking URL?

Add consistent source, medium and campaign parameters to a landing-page URL. Use content and term when you need an extra distinction. This builder encodes those values, replaces matching UTM parameters and preserves unrelated parameters and the page fragment. Your analytics setup determines how visits are recorded.

Enter your scenario

Defaults are illustrative. Calculations run in this browser. Values are kept on this page until you change, reset or reload it.

Fields and defaults

Destination URL
Full HTTP or HTTPS landing-page address, up to 2,000 characters. Use a public destination without embedded credentials or personal information. Default: https://example.com/demo.
Campaign source
Publisher or referring source; keep spelling consistent. Up to 200 characters. Default: newsletter.
Campaign medium
Channel label, such as email or social. Up to 200 characters. Default: email.
Campaign name
A consistent campaign identifier. Up to 200 characters. Default: autumn-demo.
Campaign content
Optional label for the specific link or creative. Blank removes an existing utm_content value. Default: hero-link.
Campaign term
Optional keyword label. Blank removes an existing utm_term value. Default: blank.

Formula and worked example

utm_source = source; utm_medium = medium; utm_campaign = campaign

Nonempty content and term become utm_content and utm_term; blank optional values remove those tags.

Illustrative default: https://example.com/demo becomes https://example.com/demo?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=autumn-demo&utm_content=hero-link.

Interpret the result

Use one naming convention across your team. Capitalization is preserved, so Email and email can become different reporting values.

Use campaign labels that describe the promotion. Keep names, email addresses, access tokens and other personal or secret data out of shared URLs.

Test the destination and check the expected campaign values in your analytics system. A tagged URL supplies labels; tracking and consent settings determine what your reports collect.

Fix an input or download problem

Complete every required field and keep counts within the stated range. Related counts must describe the same cohort. If you change a value, calculate again to refresh the results. A zero denominator produces an unavailable rate.

The CSV button appears after a successful calculation. Check your browser's downloads list if the file is not immediately visible. Enable JavaScript for the interactive controls; formulas, examples and field definitions remain readable on this page.
