Results as a Service

Results as a Service (RaaS): sell the outcome your clients want.

RaaS is a business model where you deliver an agreed result, such as booked appointments or answered calls, and get paid per result. AI now handles much of the answering, replying and follow-up, so agencies can package that work as a finished outcome and run it on the same software they already sell.

RaaS vs SaaS at a glance

Both can run on the same platform. The difference is who does the work and what the price is attached to.

Is SaaS dead? SaaS is growing, and changing shape.

Gartner forecast worldwide SaaS spending of $299.1 billion for 2025, up 19.2% from 2024. What AI changes is the unit of value. Software vendors themselves now charge per finished job: HubSpot's Customer Agent costs $0.50 per resolved conversation, and Fin lists $0.99 per outcome.

Buyers are getting used to paying for the job done. That is the opening for agencies: keep the software as the foundation, and sell the result it produces.

How to price a result

Start from what one result is worth to your client: their average sale multiplied by how often a result becomes a sale. Then work out what one result costs you to deliver. Your fee per result sits between those two numbers.

Example: a $500 monthly base fee plus $40 per booked inspection. A month with 25 booked inspections bills $500 + $1,000 = $1,500, with a cap of 60 billable inspections keeping the budget predictable.

  1. Base fee plus per result

A monthly fee covers setup, monitoring and reporting. Each counted result adds a fee. The easiest place to start.

  2. Pay per result

A fixed fee for each counted result and nothing else. Best when results are frequent and easy to count.

  3. Subscription plus performance credit

A familiar subscription, with a credit toward next month when an agreed target is missed. A gentle first step for existing clients.

Launch a results offer in four steps

Start with one result and one client, then copy the setup to the next account.

  1. Choose one result and define it

Pick an outcome your client already values, then write down the record that proves it, the billing period and how duplicates are counted.

    Follow the 30-day plan
  2. Build the system in a client account

Connect the client's phone number, calendar and forms in their own account, then test the full journey with your own contact details.

  3. Measure from the records

Tie each result to the number, form or page your system runs. Scheduled client reports summarize calls, appointments, new contacts and reviews for each account.

    Set up client reporting
  4. Bill a base fee plus results

Invoice your client from your own Stripe account: the base fee as a recurring charge and the month's counted results as a line item.

The system behind the result

In Chirply, each client gets their own account under your brand. Their calls, messages, forms, calendar and payments land on the same contact record, so every result you bill for points to the conversation that produced it.

An AI receptionist can answer the phone, capture the caller's details and hand off to a person. Workflows follow up on new leads, booking pages fill the calendar, and invoices collect payment, all inside the account you run for the client.

Results as a Service questions

What does RaaS stand for?

In business models and AI, RaaS stands for Results as a Service: a provider delivers an agreed outcome and is paid per result. The same acronym is used in cybersecurity for ransomware-as-a-service, and in operations for robotics-as-a-service and recovery-as-a-service.

Is RaaS the same as outcome-based pricing?

Outcome-based pricing is the pricing method; Results as a Service is the business model built on it. A RaaS provider runs the work that produces the result and charges per result, usually with a monthly base fee.

Is SaaS dead?

SaaS is growing: Gartner forecast SaaS end-user spending of $299.1 billion for 2025, up 19.2% from 2024. AI is changing how software is priced and who does the work inside it, which is what makes results-based offers practical now.

Can an agency offer SaaS and RaaS together?

Yes. Sell the branded software to clients who want to run it themselves, and offer a results package to clients who would rather you run it. Both can run on the same platform and the same client account.

Which results work best?

Results that are frequent, easy to count from a record and mostly within your control: booked appointments, answered calls, fast replies to new leads, reviews collected and invoices paid.

How do I prove results to a client?

Count only results backed by a record, such as an appointment, call log or payment. Tie each to the number, form or page your system runs, and share the list of counted results every month.
